About Us

The Department was established in 1994 and currently the department has 10 full-time faculty members, 24 from other departments of the university, and 1 from another public institution. We all work hard to bring up new Industrial Engineers who improve themself continuously, and adapt to changes according to the dynamic world. So far more than 400 undergraduate and more than 15 graduate students of Industrial Engineering are scattered all around the country and employed in good positions in many respected organizations in production, technology and service sectors. We proudly say that our colleagues' successes come not only from their efforts and abilities, but also from the quality of education at the department.

As of now our department offers undergraduate programs and accepts 45 students per year, it also offers graduate program leading to the M.S.degree. Students take their courses in modern classrooms. Particularly in our department we put emphasis on practice in industry by giving projects as much as possible with the support of computers, laboratories and the industries. Students have the opportunity to access a wide range of information from the central library, as well as from the department library.

Every year we update the contents of courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs in basic engineering education such as production and design courses, economics, science and computer technologies. Furthermore, we provide different courses as electives within the main program, so that graduate students are intended to have a broader perspective, which differs from the Industrial Engineering Departments of other universities. After finishing the preparation of projects each student presents his/her studies to the faculty members, other students and concerned sectors that will help him prepare to the working life. In addition these, students have opportunities of both domestic and overseas internships, research opportunities. Also any individual development for social and community activities are fully supported on all levels. The best example of this support would be the Industrial Science and Technology in the Community (EBITET) that all staff is formed by students that make a point of contact for departments within the university, who has a periodical and publish academic studies in a bulletin. It is one of the oldest and most active communities in the university, and even it is well-known among other universities in the country.
